Sport Indoor Brings Inclusive Sport to Middle School Students in Italy January 2025

Porto Viro, Italy — As part of the EUSPORTINCLUDES project, the Italian sports organisation Sport Indoor collaborated with Scuola Media Leonardo da Vinci to conduct inclusive sports workshops aimed at fostering integration and well-being among students.

Classes 3A and 3B at the school participated in this initiative, which combined physical education with values of inclusion and cooperation. The program introduced students to adapted sporting activities that encouraged teamwork, reduced social barriers, and raised awareness about disability and social inclusion.

The activities were carefully structured to ensure participation from all students, regardless of physical or cognitive ability. Teachers reported improved group cohesion and increased empathy among students as a result of the sessions.

This experience, backed by the EU-funded project, demonstrates the power of sport as a universal language and an effective tool for social change within schools.
